The 5th TC10/TC11 Summer School on Document Analysis will take place in Fribourg, Switzerland, from July 3-7, 2023. The event will take place from Monday evening to Friday morning in a chalet in the mountains. ''Registration will open on May 4, 2023.'' Part of the mission of TC11 is to promote high quality educational activities related to Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition. The "TC10/TC11 Summer School" is intended to become the prime educational activity of IAPR TC11 (Reading Systems) and TC10 (Graphics Recognition). The Summer School is meant to be a training activity where participants are exposed to the latest trends and techniques of Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition.

The TC11 of the IAPR has spawned a number of lively activities in the area of pattern recognition: a journal, three conference series, maintaining collections of data sets and software, numerous workshops, and a project for benchmarking on-line handwriting recognizers.</p>

Part of the mission of TC11 is to promote high quality educational activities related to Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition. The "TC10/TC11 Summer School" is intended to become the prime educational activity of IAPR TC11 (Reading Systems) and TC10 (Graphics Recognition). The Summer School is meant to be a training activity where participants are exposed to the latest trends and techniques of Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition.

TC10/TC11 Summer Schools will be organised in a bi-annual basis on even years, interleaved with ICDAR conferences which are organised on odd years. A call for bids to host the TC10 / TC11 Summer School is distributed by TC10 and TC11 about six months before the ICDAR conference of the year before the School should takes place.

Part of the mission of TC11 is to promote high quality educational activities related to Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition. The "TC10/TC11 Summer School" is intended to become the prime educational activity of IAPR TC11 (Reading Systems) and TC10 (Graphics Recognition). The Summer School is meant to be a training activity where participants are exposed to the latest trends and techniques of Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition.

TC10/TC11 Summer Schools will be organised in a bi-annual basis on even years, interleaved with ICDAR conferences which are organised on odd years. A call for bids to host the TC10 / TC11 Summer School is distributed by TC10 and TC11 about six months before the ICDAR conference of the year before the School should takes place.

Part of the mission of TC11 is to promote high quality educational activities related to Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition. The "TC10/TC11 Summer School" is intended to become the prime educational activity of IAPR TC11 (Reading Systems) and TC10 (Graphics Recognition). The Summer School is meant to be a training activity where participants are exposed to the latest trends and techniques of Reading Systems and Graphics Recognition.

TC10/TC11 Summer Schools will be organised in a bi-annual basis on even years, interleaved with ICDAR conferences which are organised on odd years. * [http://labs.europeana.eu/api/ Europeana API] The Europeana network represents more than 2,500 cultural heritage organisations and is the principal point of reference for digitised European culture. Europeana offers open access to over 32 million records, a large percentage of which are document images originating from various memory institutions including national libraries and archives. In many cases it offers links to high resolution scans of such documents. The Europeana APIs allow you to search and retrieve the contents of their database for use in your own applications. Two APIs are offered. The first is a REST-API that is suited for dynamic search and retrieval of our data. The second API is more experimental and supports download of complete datasets and advanced semantic search and retrieval of our data via the SPARQL query language.

It is extremely important for the Document Image Analysis and Recognition community to be able to cross check and reproduce results described in published papers in the field. In order to achieve this, any datasets used as the basis for publications should be publicly available, as is the norm in many other disciplines.

Authors are actively encouraged to submit the datasets they used to train and / or evaluate their algorithms to the TC-11 in order for them to be published on the TC-11 Web site.

This initiative is not restricted to datasets. At TC-11 we are interested in archiving online any piece of data (ground-truth data, software, etc) which would allow to easily reproduce results, set new targets, foster healthy competition, encourage collaboration and generally advance the DIAR field as a whole.

A wealth of datasets and corresponding ground truth data are already available through the TC-11 [http://datasets.iapr-tc11.org Web portal].

If you wish to contribute, please read below about the procedure to submit material to the TC-11 web-portal. The dataset curators will be notified as soon as the dataset is uploaded.

TC-11 provides dataset hosting services as a benefit to the international research community. If it is determined that copyrighted material is improperly included in a dataset submitted to inclusion on the TC-11 website, we will immediately remove the offending material upon notification of the copyright holder.
